The keypad slides into the front panel also the camera is situated at the rear. The Carl Zeiss lens of the camera is protected with a shutter. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top along with the lock key.

Touchscreen – It has a 5 inch touchscreen offering a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The screen allows you to support 16 million colors. Easy to use and quite responsive is the resistive touchscreen.

OS – The phone has the operating system Maemo 5 OS. This Linux based OS is open source and application developers and designers can add cool graphics and applications as they wish. More than one application are able to be used simultaneously. You can easily switch between applications. Applications which are currently running are displayed as small panes on the display panel. You can close applications by simply clicking a cross sign at the side of the window.

Moving through the desktop is simply completed with a swipe of your finger.

Online – This smart phone provides many different ways for you to connect to the Internet. For internet surfing Mozilla Firefox explorer is utilized by the telephone. To zoom in on a page, just swirl your finger in a circle or tap the page twice.

Navigation – The navigation software in this device is worth mentioning. A-GPS, inbuilt compass and Ovi maps, are found in the N900. If you don’t like using Ovi maps, you can choose other maps to download and keep.

Camcorder – A five-megapixel camera comes with this phone, and it has zoom, autofocus, and all the other features you expect. Crystal clear images are achieved through the combination of amazing resolution and clarity. You can also edit images as you wish. Video streaming can be tried with WVGA 848×480 @ 25fps.

Media – The Nokia N900 has some cool media features. MP3, WAV, WMA and eAAC formats are supported by the audio system, while the WMV, Real Video, MP4, AV1 and XviD formats are supported by the video system.

Microsoft Office – with this phone, users of MS Office Document Viewer allows you to view PDF documents and files.

Games – This handset can be used to download a Super Nintendo emulator. The gaming experience is good.

Other Features – Polyphonic ring tones, calculator, calendar, organizer, to-do list, Java, handsfree, voice memo, FM radio, vibrating alert and so on.
